Mariano Licon

Mariano Licon, 86, of Hobbs passed away Sunday, February 2, 2014 in Hobbs. Mass of Christian Burial will be 2:00 PM, Wednesday, February 5, 2014 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Father Ruben Romero as Celebrant. Interment will follow in Prairie Haven Memorial Park. A rosary will be recited at 6:00 PM, Tuesday the 4th at Griffin Funeral Home.

Mr. Licon was born on June 11, 1927 in Alpine, Texas to Epimenio and Amalia Licon. He married Sofia Muro on July 20, 1963 and they celebrated 40 years of wonderful marriage before her death in 2003. Mariano worked in the construction business for many years. He enjoyed gardening and listening to music and he loved being around family especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mariano was also preceded in death by his parents 2 sisters 3 brothers and grandchild, Valerie Sena.

Survivors include his daughters, Margarita De Los Santos and Linda Urias son, Eliseo Licon brother, Raymond Licon sisters, Soccorro Lopez, Aurelia Marquez, Bernarda Sambrano, Angelita Navarette and Maria Muro grandchildren, Amanda Garcia, Cesar Benavides, Tamara De Los Santos, Ray De Los Santos, Dillon Licon, Jennifer Sena, Maribel Gonzalez, Eddie Gonzalez and Frank Sanchez and 10 great grandchildren.
