Marsial Ruiz

Marsial Ruiz, Sr. 71, of Hobbs, New Mexico passed away Saturday, December 22, 2018. Marsial was born on April 19, 1947 to Cruz Ruiz and Leandra Martinez in Carlsbad, New Mexico. He worked as a maintenance man for numerous apartment buildings. Marsial loved building lowrider bikes and cars and was a jack of all trades. This loving husband, father and grandfather enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren play sports. He was a true jokester whose personality could brighten anyone's day. He will be tremendously missed by all who knew him. Marsial was preceded in death by his parents, Cruz and Leandra Ruiz; son, Georgie Ruiz, brothers: Raymond, Armando and Lencho Ruiz; and sisters Lucia Duarte and Nikky Sosa.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 51 years, Anita Melendrez Ruiz; sons: Marsial (Cynthia) Ruiz, Jr. and Sammy (Stacie) Ruiz both of Hobbs, NM; daughter, Nancy Ramirez of Rialto, CA; brothers: Cruz (Del) Ruiz of Philadelphia, PA, Ismael Ruiz of Albuquerque, NM, Luis (Maria) Ruiz of Hobbs, NM; Refugio Ruiz of Palm Springs, CA; sisters: Hortencia Hernandez and Dora (Crystal) Ruiz both of Hobbs, NM; 23 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren; and numerous nephews and nieces. Honorary Pallbearers are Eric Ruiz, Marsial Ruiz III, Pete Bueno, Gabriel A. Ramirez, Anthony Ruiz, Ryan Ruiz, Sergio C. Ramirez and Adrian Garcia.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 PM - 6:00 PM with a Vigil/Rosary to begin at 6:00 PM, Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at Griffin Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be at 10:00 AM, Thursday, January 3, 2019 at Griffin Funeral Home.
