Marvin Owen

Marvin Owen, 79, of Hobbs, passed away Thursday, June 27, 2013 in Hobbs. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM, Monday, July 1, 2013 at Prairie Haven Memorial Park Chapel with Chaplain Elio Barrios, officiating. Interment will follow in Prairie Haven Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1:00 3:00 PM, Sunday at Griffin Funeral Home.

Mr. Owen was born on February 23, 1934 in De Leon, Texas to William and Elsie Owen. He married Nancy Maddux on April 28, 1956 in Gorman, Texas and they have been in Hobbs for over 55 years. Mr. Owen worked for many years in the oilfield and retired from Mississippi Potash. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding his motorcycle and also loved to travel. Mr. Owen was preceded in death by his parents and 2 sisters.

Survivors include his wife, Nancy Owen of the home daughter, Pat Collins and husband, Neil son, James Owen brothers, Gilbert Owen of Stephenville, TX and Loyd Owen of Brownwood, TX and his grandson, Colton Owen.
