Mary Lue Dorman, 69, of Hobbs, beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed away on February 27, 2018. Fondly known as Lue, she lived, laughed and loved with all of her heart.
Many remember her dedicated service of her work as the detective division secretary and records at the Hobbs Police Department; secretarial work at Lea County Sheriff's Department, New Mexico State Police Department and the Public Defender's Office. She also worked at the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge in the 1970's.
She leaves behind a daughter, Heather Dodson Payne and her husband, Glen Payne and also son, Tommy Dodson; five grandchildren; seven great grandchildren and 17 nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Randall and Betty Dorman and brother, Randall Dorman, Jr.
Lue lived in Hobbs all of her life where friends remember her infectious smile and her (Hi, Honey! or Hi Sweetie!) greeting. Her children remembered all holidays, times when Lue made sure the holidays were the best ever, even in times when there was little money to live on. She is known for cooking pies for everyone in her path, always being there to lend a helping hand. She met no strangers, lifted up the sad and lonely and extended a hand many times to people she barely knew. She will be missed and fondly remembered.
Her Service of Celebration will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, March 4, 2018 at Griffin Funeral Home.
