Maxine Hamilton

Maxine Hamilton, 92, of Hobbs passed away Monday, January 1, 2018. Maxine was born on June 18, 1925 in Hazelton, Kansas to Spurgeon and Myrtle Noble. She grew up in California. Maxine married Reuben Hamilton in Douglas, Arizona and they celebrated over 51 years of marriage until his death in 1995. When they moved to Hobbs, she worked for the Hobbs High School cafeteria for many years. Maxine also volunteered at the local veterans office and the VFW. She was proud to be a lifetime member of the American Legion and VFW. Maxine will be remembered as a kind and gentle person.

Survivors include her son, Howard "Doug" Hamilton and his wife, Retta of Vancouver, WA; granddaughter Lana Carroll and husband, Mike; great grandchildren Serena Carroll and Brittaney Carroll all of Vancouver, WA. Maxine was preceded in death by her parents, husband and 2 brothers.

The family would like to thank Dr. Mankad and his staff; the staff at Desert Gardens and also Kindred Hospice for the wonderful care of Maxine. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Manna Outreach, Isaiah's Kitchen or a charity of your choice.

The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 PM, Thursday, January 4th at Griffin Funeral Home.
