Larry Hardiman

Larry Hardiman, born on December 1, 1947, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on June 13, 2024, surrounded by his loving family and friends. He was the cherished son of Melvin and Almedia Hardiman of Abilene, Texas, where he was raised and built the strong foundation that guided him throughout his life.

Larry’s early years were marked by a burgeoning passion for business. Starting his career at a local retail company, he swiftly demonstrated his knack for management and deal-making. His dedication and skill propelled him to the position of General Manager, and soon after, District Manager, where he successfully opened new locations across the West. Larry's entrepreneurial spirit eventually led him to establish his own business in Hobbs, New Mexico. Workhorse Boots & Jeans became a beloved fixture in downtown Hobbs long before the area saw redevelopment.

A man of deep faith and a generous heart, Larry was known for his unwavering willingness to help those in need, often giving the shirt off his back. His servant leadership shone brightly as he served his community in various capacities, including as a deacon and a member of the local chamber of commerce. Larry's encouraging words and prayerful nature touched many lives, offering hope and support to everyone he met.

Larry and his beloved wife, Carol Hardiman, shared a beautiful marriage that blended their families and spanned many joyful years. Together, they relished traveling, playing games, and visiting their extensive family of children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
