Monica Sonnamaker

Monica Mona Sonnamaker, 66, of Hobbs passed away Saturday, November 29, 2014 in Lubbock, TX. Graveside services will be held at 10:30 AM, Thursday, December 4, 2014 in Prairie Haven Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:007:00 PM, Wednesday the 3rd at Griffin Funeral Home.

Mona was born on June 16, 1948 in Hobbs, NM to John and Birdie West. She graduated from Hobbs High School, attended Sweet Briar College and graduated from Adams State College. Mona married Bill Sonnamaker in 1980 and they celebrated over 34 wonderful years of marriage. She worked at Daniels Insurance Company for over 35 years and always cared for her customers. Mona enjoyed fishing, traveling and antiquing. She loved animals, especially her cats. Mona was a very determined, compassionate, devoted, kind, caring, loving woman and was always willing to help anyone. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include her husband, Bill Sonnamaker daughter, Noel Charshe sister, Cynthia West 2 grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
