Mose “Kisu” Gilliam Jr. was born April 23, 1948, to Mose Sr. and Willie Bell (Johnson) Gilliam in Hobbs, NM, where he grew up and attended school. He later enlisted in the Navy and served in the Vietnam War. Kisu lived his life governed by the Muslim faith under the teaching of the Honorable Elijah Muhammad.
In his favorite past time, he enjoyed listening to old school music, making tribal art and loved to dress. He was well versed and knowledgeable in the Islamic lifestyle and the Holy Quran.
On January 11, 2025, while at home surrounded by loved ones, he was guided home by The Most High.
Mose is reunited with his parents Willie Bell and Mose L. Gilliam Sr. and his beloved sister and brother-in-law Jimetta (Melvin), Cobbs Sr. and lifelong friend Ronnie White. To continue his legacy and cherish his memories he leaves: special friend Dana Thomas of Cypress, TX daughter Erma (Rounda) Dickson of Atlanta GA. Sonya (Tony) Parker of Cypress, TX. Yolanda Hall of Houston, TX Freda (Greg) Holland. Kenneth R. Heckard, Gregory Holland, David Parker. Tony Parker, Tatyana Dickson, Teoni Parker and Cliftonaa’ Hall’, four great grand children Samayah, Najae, Nyella, Kion and Kristian, a host of nieces, nephews and additional family and friends.
