Owen Palmer

Owen Edward Ed Palmer passed away at the age of 82 on November 29, 2013 at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock, Texas. He was born September 9, 1931 in Merkel, Texas to Earl Edward Palmer and Vernice Sylvetia Owens Palmer. Ed married Olga Faye Gamel in Trent, Texas on May 4, 1951. They were married 62 years at his passing together they raised three children. He retired from Texaco Oil after 36 years of working in Lea County, New Mexico. After retirement he spent 24 years fishing at Lake Livingston in Texas. He loved to build things, including two different houses for his family, and was an avid hunter. Ed enjoyed gardening and always had the best kept lawn in his community. He loved his children, grandchildren, and greatgrandchildren, and enjoyed his time with them until his passing. He is survived by one brother, Charles Allen Palmer Nancy and one nephew, Michael Palmer his children, Danny Marshall Palmer Lora, Freddy Carl Palmer Carra, and Brenda June Winn Dickie eight grandchildren and numerous greatgrandchildren. Ed was preceded in death by his mother and father. Grandpa was loved by his family and will be missed.

Graveside services will be 11:00 AM, Monday, December 2, 2013 in Prairie Haven Memorial Park with Reverend Andrew Hebert, officiating. The family will receive friends from 46 PM, Sunday at Griffin Funeral Home.
