Pauline McAdams, 93, The gates of Heaven were opened on June 4, 2019 to receive Pauline Koonce McAdams. She was born September 25, 1925 in Poteau, Oklahoma to Joseph Spencer Koonce and Sally Abanatha. She loved fishing, hunting, and camping in the outdoors. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and friends playing cards, working on ceramic pots and other articles. Pauline worked as a Postmaster in Air Base City. Out of all the places shes been, she loved Airbase City the most! She also worked 30+ years managing May Tag Laundry Mat where she met and made friends with many amazing people in the Hobbs area. After retiring she loved to travel, spend quality time with her kids and grandkids, going to casinos, playing Bingo and house sitting for family and friends, until she was in a major car wreck in Colorado Springs at the age of 81, where she was confined to a wheel chair. Pauline was a member of Temple Baptist Church since 2006. She loved all of her family with all her heart and will be greatly missed!
Pauline is survived by her son, David McAdams and wife Neisie McAdams of Hobbs, NM; daughter-in-law Sharon McAdams of Hobbs; 11 grandkids, 24 great grandkids and 12 great-great grandkids. She is preceded in death by her parents Joseph Spencer Koonce and Sally Abanatha; brother, Paule Koonce; sister, Carry Seals; daughter, Mary Mills; sons: C.D. McAdams, Jr. and Kelly McAdams; and 2 great grandchildren, Lance Persilve and Megan Whitaker.
Visitation will be held from 1:00-8:00 PM, Sunday, June 9, 2019 at Griffin Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be at 11:00 AM, Monday, June 10, 2019 at Temple Baptist Church, with Rev. Lavoid Ford to officiate. Interment will follow at Prairie Haven Cemetery. All services are under the direction of Griffin Funeral Home.
