On Thursday, July 9, 2020, Revis Audavee Bennett peacefully passed away surrounded by family and friends at the age of 92.
Audavee was born in Dora, New Mexico on January 12, 1928, to Generl Revis and Frances Louise (Owens) Bennett. Audavee grew up and graduated from high school in Hobbs, New Mexico. He enlisted in the US Navy after graduation, and served on the aircraft carrier Antietam as Seaman First Class during WWII. He received the Victory Metal. After returning home he went to work for a family run refrigeration company. Audavee attended New Mexico College of Agriculture and Mechanical Arts. After honing his skills and knowledge in refrigeration he proudly purchased and ran Bennett Refrigeration in Hobbs, New Mexico. His knowledge in refrigeration led companies to seek his expertise in design, engineering and repair. On December 30, 1950, Audavee married Treva Faye Burrows. They had three children Pamela, Stevan and Michael.
Audavee or Tex as he was affectionately known had a love for the outdoors. He enjoyed farming and ranching in Texas and Alabama. Audavee earned a Real Estate Brokers license. With his natural entrepreneurship he purchased, developed, sold properties and leased refrigeration equipment nationwide. He surrounded himself with interesting friends. He had a passion for life and lived it.
Audavee was preceded in death by his father Generl Revis, mother Frances Louise (Owens) Bennett, sister Genise Kennedy and brother Gerald. He is survived by two sisters Brie Johnson and Kay Bennett, three children Pamela Phillips (Chris), Stevan Bennett (Nancy) and Michael Bennett (Alexandra), six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren.
A Graveside service in Hobbs, and a Gathering for family and friends at his home in Alabama will be held at a later date.
