Rita N. Olivarez passed away peacefully at Lubbock UHM Hospital on December 30, 2015. Rita was born on November 9, 1935 in Ojinaga, Mexico to Eleno and Magdalena Jacobo. She was a homemaker and very active in her Catholic faith. Rita was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church; she was a Eucharistic Minister and a Guadalupana. Rita enjoyed spending time with her family. Her family was her pride and joy. Rita is survived by her husband of 57 years, Jose H. Olivarez, a son, Hugo Naegele (Brenda) of Hobbs, daughters; Betty Naegele Casarez (Carlos) of Midand, Tx; Rosemary Naegele; Norma Hernandez (Junior); Margie Valverde ( Randy Williamson)and Cindy Herrera-Murillo (David) all of Hobbs. Rita had numerous grandkids; Eliseo H. Lopez, Joseph Naegele, Brooks Beard, Amy Williams, Luke Gonzales, Delilah Sanchez, DJ Valverde, Cody Valverde and Ryan Herrera. Rita also is survived by a brother, Mauricio Jacobo and sisters; Juana Bara; Armira Espinoza, and Amparo Salazar. Her grandsons will be pallbearers. She also had twenty great grandkids. Rita is preceded in death by her parents and a grandson, Albert N. Gonzalez.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 2:00 pm, Wednesday, January 6, 2016 at St. Helena Catholic Church with Reverend Ricardo Bauzá, Celebrant. Interment will follow in Prairie Haven Memorial Park. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm, Tuesday the 5th at St. Helena Catholic Church.
