R.L. Larmon

R.L. Slim Larmon, 86, of Hobbs, passed away Wednesday, July 16, 2014 in Hobbs. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM, Saturday, July 19, 2014 at Griffin Funeral Home with Pastor Jotty Kinney, officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 10:00 AM 8:00 PM at the funeral home.

Slim was born on July 5, 1928 in Bryan County, Oklahoma to Jim and Edna Larmon. He married Elizabeth Hall on February 21, 1946 in Childress, Texas and they celebrated over 52 wonderful years of marriage until her death on November 9, 1998. He worked hard all of his life as a welder and heavy equipment mechanic. R.L. loved to tinker with things and was always inventing gadgets. He cared about the wellbeing of others he fed many people and no one left his house hungry. Slim was also preceded in death by his parents sons, Robert Larmon and Thomas Rickles brother, Donald Larmon and grandchildren, Russell Larmon and Larry Hunt, Jr.

Survivors include his daughters, Patsy Hunt and husband, Larry , Lillie Tackitt and husband, Leon and Bethalene Bryan and husband, Terry all of Hobbs sons, Roger Larmon and wife, Marty, Billy Rickles and Dwight R.L. Larmon all of Hobbs brother, Jim Larmon 10 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren and greatgreat grandchildren .
