Ronald "Ronnie" Joe Westbrook

Ronald “Ronnie” Joe Westbrook was born on October 27, 1949, in Hobbs, New Mexico, to Clint and Doris Westbrook. He passed away surrounded by his family at home in Hobbs, New Mexico, on August 17, 2024.

Ronnie grew up in eastern New Mexico and graduated from Roswell High School. After high school, Ronnie married Sandy Garrard in 1971, and together they raised their son, Joseph “Joey” Westbrook. Later in life, Ronnie met Wilda Jean Lewallen, and they were married on July 17, 1975, in Lovington, New Mexico. Wilda had a daughter of her own, Lisa Michelle Webb. Lisa along with Joey, Ronnie and Wilda enjoyed a wonderful 49 years together.

Ronnie had a career in the oilfield as a pump technician until his retirement. In earlier years, he loved to take family trips to Colorado, trips to the lake, and annual deer hunting trips. Later in life, he enjoyed bass fishing with his brother Lynn Westbrook.

Ronnie was quite the handyman. He was always making repairs around the house and on vehicles. There was nothing he couldn’t fix. He was blessed to have his mom live next door and had many good memories of time spent with her. Ronnie also enjoyed collecting things, with Hot Wheels being one of his favorites.

Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents. To carry on his memory are his loving wife Wilda; his son Joey Westbrook; his daughter Lisa Webb Danko and her husband Brian; his grandsons Tyler Westbrook and his wife Shannon, Jared Gore and his wife Sarah; his granddaughter Laney Gore; his great-grandchildren Natalie, Noelle, Emerson, Wyatt, and Parker; his brother Lynn Westbrook and his children Mike, Corey, Lori, and Tami; along with brothers and sisters-in-law, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and many friends.
