Russell Tramell

Russell Tramell, 77, of Hobbs, passed away Wednesday, December 10, 2014. Funeral services will be 1:00 PM, Saturday, December 13, 2014 at Griffin Funeral Home with Pastor John Ayers, officiating. Interment will follow in Prairie Haven Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 1:00 7:00 PM at Griffin Funeral Home.

Russell was born on June 21, 1937 in Vian, Oklahoma to Loy and Lavada Tramell. He married Patsy Reynolds in 1958 and they celebrated over 50 wonderful years together until her death in 2008. Together they owned RO Well Services in Lovington for many years. After retirement, they moved to Breckenridge, TX and bought the Village Inn Motel and Marina, where he lived his dream of fishing and hunting. He loved to restore antique cars. Russell was also preceded in death by his parents, brother, Ronnie Tramell and sister, Martha Carter.

Survivors include his daughters, Kathy Jewell and husband, Stephen of Hobbs and JoDee Hess and husband, Bobby of Midland, TX brothers, Orville Tramell, David Tramell and Raph Tramell sisters, Ramona Maypole, Luicle Carter and Ruth Van Winkle and grandchildren, Shanna Elaine Volyes, Jerrett Clemence and Aaron Jace Clemence. Russell was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend and will be missed by all. Arrangements are under the direction of Griffin Funeral Home.
