Sean Montes

Sean Abel Montes, of Hobbs, was taken from this world to the next on July 29, 2022 at the age of 21. He was born on November 24, 2000 in Hobbs to Erika Montes Cruz, the oldest of her children. A funeral service in his honor will be held on Friday, August 5, 2022 at Griffin Funeral Home at 2pm, with burial to follow at Prairie Haven Memorial Park. Sean was one of a kind, a truly beautiful person inside and out. Growing up, he loved sports of all kinds and enjoyed staying active. You never found Sean lonely, he made friends wherever he was, at school, work, or the store he was always talking to people. As he grew, he developed a deep appreciation for cars, and enjoyed working on, and showing off, his car. Sean was lucky enough to have his best friends be family, he shared a special relationship with his two siblings, Ayden and Jasmine, as well as his cousins Carl and Malachi. He’s absolute pride and joy was his son, Sean Jr. He, along with his fiancé Alexis were overjoyed with their baby boy. Sean never lost his sense of humor, and fought every battle to the last. Though his fight is now over, we remember the happy, strong and caring young man he was. Sean will be truly missed by all those who love him.

Left to treasure his memory are his mother, Erika Cruz (Juan), siblings Ayden and Jasmine Cruz, Javier Vanessa, Viviana, Valerie and Juaquin Cruz, son Sean Montes Jr., fiancé Alexis Gutierrez, and more extended family and friends then could ever be counted.
