Shirley Whinery

Shirley Jane Whinery 79, of Eunice, New Mexico passed away, August 13, 2021 in Hobbs, NM.

Shirley was born in Elgin, Oklahoma to Louis Earl & Maxine Davidson.  She was a 1959 graduate, of Hobbs High School. She was a member of First Baptist Eunice. She was also a member of The Dancing Grannies, in Hobbs, NM.

Shirley is preceded in death by her parents, Louis Earl & Maxine Davidson; three sisters: Jean Ford, Janice Davidson & Ann Russell; one son, Laike Whinery; one grandson, Josh Fulkerson

Shirley is survived by her husband of 63 Years, Clifford Whinery of Eunice, NM; three daughters, Roberta Henderson of Hobbs NM; Pennie Fulkerson of Elgin OK; Suzy Kirby of Cartwright, OK; one son, Clifton Whinery of Ypsilanti MI; two siblings, Louis Earl and Linda Gray, both of Wichita Falls, TX;

11 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandson, several  nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.

Her family was very important to her. Shirley was always thinking of the needs of others and was the first to offer a loving hug. She will be missed, dearly by all that knew her.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday, August 23, 2021, at Griffin Funeral Home Chapel, 401 N Dalmont St, in Hobbs, NM Interment will follow at Memory Gardens. Visitation will be prior to the service, 10 a.m. Monday, at the funeral home.
