Willard White, Sr., 84, of Hobbs, passed away December 25, 2012, in Lubbock, Texas. Funeral Services will be 1:00 pm, Friday, January 4, 2013 at Ebenezer Baptist Church with the Reverend John Joiner officiating. Interment will follow in Prairie Haven Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, Thursday, January 3rd at Griffin Funeral Home.
On October 19, 1928 a handsome little boy was born to Lubbie and Willie Mae White, in Chilton, TX. They named him Willard Pinky White. He attended school at Fred Douglas in Chilton. He united with Good Hope Baptist Church. Willard White moved to Hobbs, NM in 1955 and united with St. John Baptist Church. On December 3, 1955, Willard White united in marriage to his sweetheart Otilla and retired with Railway Express and he also worked for and retired for Chevron. During his lifelong union with Otilla White she gave birth to 5 beautiful children, 4 daughters and 1 son.
Left to witness his home going 1 sister, Carrie Williams of Hobbs, NM. Also left to witness his home going is 4 daughters, Bobbie Jewel Carter of Lubbock, TX, Barbara Jean White of Hobbs, NM, Yvonne Marie White of Phoenix, AZ, and Marchelle Denise Pace of Hobbs, NM 1 Son, Willard Pinky White, Jr. of Albuquerque, NM 11 grandchildren 17 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild and a host of nieces, nephews, loved ones and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Otilla Vera White his mother, Willie Mae White his father, Lubbie White 2 sisters, Marva White and Sallie Snowden 3 brothers, Lubbie White Jr., James Murphy White, and JW White.
