Yolanda Barela

Yolanda Gomez Barela, of Hobbs, passed away at her home on July 28,2022. She was born on September 9, 1940 to Francisco Varela Gomez and Maria Ramon Gomez in Sabinal, Texas. A gathering of friends and family will be held on Monday, August 1 from 4-7pm, with a rosary to be recited at 6pm. A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, August 2 at St Helena Catholic Church at 10 am, with burial to follow at Prairie Haven Memorial Park.

Yolanda was an amazing mother, grandmother, tia, and friend, who loved her family and God with everything she had. She endeavored to help wherever and whenever she could, always putting others above herself. Her family will forever miss her strong and caring presence.

Preceding Yolanda in passing are her husband Albert F. Barela, parents Francisco and Maria Gomez, sons David and Joe Barela, grandson Benjamin Keith Fernandez, two sisters and a brother.

Left to treasure her memory are her children Cyndi Barela, Patricia Barela and Albert ‘Sunny’ Barela, grandchildren Johnny Jaramillo Jr., Jesse Jaramillo, Jose Jaramillo, Robert Jaramillo, Cecilia Jaramillo, Celeste Barela, Albert Justin Fernandez, Barbari Barela and Carmen Barela. She is also survived by 22 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
