Zula Beals

Zula Mae Beals, 77, of Hobbs, passed away Wednesday, April 24, 2013 in Hobbs. Funeral services will be 1:00 PM, Tuesday, April 30, 2013 at Griffin Funeral Home with Pastor Winford Gipson, officiating. Interment will follow in Prairie Haven Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:008:00 pm, Monday, April 29th at the funeral home.

Mrs. Beals was born on September 20, 1935 in New Orleans, LA to Elijah and Celestine Lyons. She married Columbus Beals and enjoyed 10 wonderful years together until his death. Mrs. Beals enjoyed crafts, watching soap operas, shopping and cooking. She loved being with her family and was a second mom to all of her nieces and nephews. Mrs. Beals was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother, Elijah Lyons, Jr., 3 nephews and great niece, Alavia Edwards.

Survivors include her sister, Elouise Egans of Hobbs God son, Tracy Egans of Hobbs nieces, Glenda Egans of Hobbs, Gail Cleaver, Jesse of Tyler, TX, Sherrie Carpenter of Macon, GA, Carolyn, Judy, Cassandra and Olinda of Louisiana nephews, Robert Egans, Cynthia of Hobbs, Bruce and Frankie Lyons of Louisiana and a host of great nieces and nephews.
