A Parker

Andrew James "A J" Parker, 46, passed away at his home in Hobbs, August 6, 2016. He was born September 19, 1969 in Hobbs, the son of James Phillip Parker and Frances Ruth (Boatright) Parker.

A J graduated from Hobbs High School and attended New Mexico Eastern University and Texas Tech. His first job was a newspaper route, delivering papers on his bicycle. During high school, he worked at a grocery store and hardware store. He worked at Dixie Electric for a couple of summers between semesters at college. Then most of his employment was in restaurant management in New Mexico, Arizona and Texas.
A J loved his family and enjoyed all their family get-togethers. He was known for his kindness and generosity, and was a member of Belvue Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his father, James, on September 30, 2014.

Survivors are his mother, Ruth Parker of Hobbs; three sisters, Phyllis Murphy of Hobbs, Elizabeth Schwarz (Rick) of Graham, TX, Alana Hawkins (John) of Odessa, TX; two brothers, John Parker (Darla) of Hobbs and Joe Parker (Allison) of Poulsbo, WA; and eleven nephews and nieces
Memorial services will be held at Belvue Baptist Church, 1701 North Coleman, Hobbs, NM on Thursday, August 11, 2016 at 2:00 pm.
Family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be sent to Palmer Drug Abuse Program (PDAP) , PO Box 5185, Hobbs, NM 88241.
