Gerald Mccormick

Gerald Edward McCormick went to be with his Lord on Friday, August 12, 2016 in Hobbs, NM. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:00 am, MST, Thursday, August 18, 2016 at St. Helena Catholic Church in Hobbs, NM with Reverend Ricardo Bauza, Celebrant. Interment will be at 3:30 CST in Holy Family Cemetery, Nazareth, Texas. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm, MST, Wednesday the 17th at Griffin Funeral Home in Hobbs, NM.

Gerald was born on February 4, 1933 in Happy, TX to Harold and Ida Heidgerken McCormick. He worked with his father and brothers transporting milk from the Texas panhandle farmers to the Borden Milk Company in Amarillo, Texas. Gerald began working in the oilfield and quickly advanced his skills with education at Texas Tech University and Oklahoma University. He operated Master Well Logging and G Mack Drilling Company in Oklahoma and owned and operated Above Enterprise in Snyder, TX. Gerald was a member of St. Helena Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Anthony McCormick; brothers, James and William; sisters, Opal and Margaret and stepson, Michael Riley.

Survivors include his wife, Donna McCormick of the home; sons, Tom McCormick of Midland, TX and Robert McCormick (Claire) of San Antonio, TX; sister, Annrose Sherrell (Gerald) of Sayer, OK; stepdaughters, Paula Butler (Steven) of Moore, OK and Susan Bickford (Bruce) of Memphis, TN; stepson, Aaron Riley (Candace) of El Reno, OK; special daughters, Rosemarie Tapia and Shawna Shaw of Oklahoma City, OK; grandchildren, Heather Irish, Candace McCormick, Kristen McCormick, Michael McCormick, Joseph McCormick, Katlin McCormick, Brian Butler, Steven Butler, Michael Riley, Billy Riley, Charles Riley, Danielle Riley, Johnathan Riley, Alicia Marie Riley, Nick Shaw, Katlen Shaw, Steven Wright and Lisamarie Meyer; 22 great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, friends and business partner, Tino Sanchez.
