N. Johnson

N. Jundell Johnson, age 90, of Albuquerque, NM, passed away on May 29, 2016 from her short battle with lung cancer. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. June 4th, 2016 at Grace Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Jimmy Braswell of Odessa, Texas, officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday the 3rd from 5:00-7:00 pm at Griffin Funeral Home.
June was born in Electra, Texas on September 12, 1925. She graduated from Hobbs High School and went back to college in the mid 60's to take accounting classes. June was married to Walton "Stiney" Johnson on February 14, 1946; they were married 38 years and raised two son's Kenneth and Tom Johnson. June worked as the Hospital Claims Administrator for Lea County for 26 years. She enjoyed golfing, traveling, crocheting, reading romance novels and watching the Dallas Cowboys play football. June organized the Ladies Auxiliary for The Eagles Lodge in 1967, held many offices within the Eagle's organization including Madam President and Treasurer. Her most memorable moments where attending National Conventions with her family and close friends. June was a member of Alpha Sigma Chapter of Epsilon Sigma Alpha since 1964.
June is survived by her son, William T Johnson of Albuquerque, Daughter in-law Deborah Castillo Johnson, Grandchildren Stephen & Jenna Overman, Ryan & Sarah Overman all of Albuquerque, Great grandson Isaiah Baca of Albuquerque and many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. Family first was her motto.
June is preceded in death by her husband, Walton T Johnson, son Kenneth W Johnson, Parents Lester and Edna Braswell, sisters, Faye Campbell and Betty Babcock and brother, Kenneth Braswell. Pallbearers will be: Bill Squires, Kevin Conn, Ryan Overman, Stephen Overman, Bill Sonnamaker and Ron Bratton. A reception will be held at the Eagles Lodge following the burial.
